There are four Charisma-based classes in Baldur’s Gate 3 whose damage scales in power in relation to how many points they’ve pumped into their Charisma stat. These classes want to dump as many points into this stat to power up their spells and abilities as much as possible. Charisma is perhaps the best stat to have for ‘face characters’ or characters that will be engaging NPCs in dialogue, as most conversation checks get a bonus to the dice roll based solely on how high your Charisma Stat is.
