This article contains minor spoilers for Baldur's Gate 3.With over 20 years since the original release of Baldur’s Gate 2, Larian’s take on the legendary series was always going to be intended for a newer audience. I wouldn’t be shocked if the vast majority of the peak 875,000 concurrent Baldur’s Gate 3 players have never played a previous entry. After playing through the vast majority of the game at this point, I think Larian struck a nice balance between paying homage to the series’ past but without getting bogged down in said past, which could've alienated new players.
